On August 30th, 2026, we shared with our congregation that our Lead Pastor, Eric Friedmann and his family, made the decision to accept a position at a new church at the end of November 2026. While we are saddened to see Eric leave, we are extremely grateful for his ten years of service to our church. The Holy Spirit has used his leadership, passion for Jesus, strong preaching, and deep care for people to usher in a vibrant season of God's blessing - one that we hope and expect to continue on into the next season for First. Additionally, it is the heart of Eric and the Elder Team for this transition season to be one filled with honor, celebration, and diligent prayer for both the Friedmann's and the First Family. Transition Updates
October 09, 2026
The elders are coming out of the 40 days of prayer more optimistic and excited about the future God has planned and in the works for FCC. As we continue forward discerning how and where God is leading, next steps include conversations with staff about future plans, as well as extended planning time amongst the elders to document God’s revealed plans and start taking the next steps to implement those plans.
September 28, 2026
The elders are continuing to fast and pray over next steps for First. We are also meeting weekly to seek where the Holy Spirit is leading us in this season. We would encourage the entire congregation to join with us in fasting and prayer.
September 14, 2026
As we walk through this season of transition, our elders are praying and fasting alongside you. This isn't a decision we're rushing — it's one we're bringing before God together. Our elders have also invited support from e2: effective elders, a ministry that comes alongside church elders to encourage and equip them for exactly this kind of work.
