Life GroupsMany seniors are involved in life groups where they share their wisdom, continue to learn from the Word and from others, and enjoy getting to know new people in a smaller setting. ServiceBeginning with the nursery and extending throughout the entire life of the church, you will witness seniors in service. At FCC there are not only opportunities, but all seniors are encouraged to be active in serving the Lord. Seniors are needed to share the wisdom they have acquired over the years with younger generations. Special areas of senior involvement are: Apples of GoldA six-week program of fun and fellowship where mature women mentor younger women through a topical Bible study based on Titus 2:3-5. Also included are cooking demonstrations, sharing meals and encouragement for women to be who God wants them to be. Heart to HeartThis ministry shares love and kindness with those who are in the hospital, the nursing home, or confined to their own homes. Many lives are blessed each week by the visits of these caring, loving seniors. OutreachMentoring younger families, both in the church and the community.. Our “Grandparenting” program allows our seniors to connect with college students at the U of I. The goal of this program is to provide encouragement, support & friendship. |
